Autumn Essentials!

With the onset of Autumn slowly but surely creeping into our closets, it’s time we gentlemen started ticking off our checklist of AW menswear must-haves. Today, I chose a look that showcases a number of chic, simple and smart staples that will see you through another season of fresh Fall fashion- without breaking the bank!

This classic check shirt from Benetton is the ideal autumnal companion for any fash-savvy fellow. It’s rich navy and red pattern offers the quintessentially quaint appearance of a flannel shirt, yet it’s soft, lightweight cotton allows the option of layering for a transitional take on this sartorial staple. I especially enjoy the contrast lining on the cuffs- a denim detail to die for!

I opted for this olive green Topman bomber to luxe up the laid back vibes of the shirt. This particular piece was actually a thrifty charity shop find, but the high street is awash with similar styles for under €60. I’d highly recommend investing in this easy to wear piece, given its accessibility to any casual capsule collection!

Indigo jeans are a go-to piece for any season, and these Topman skinnies complimented the rich tones of my shirt perfectly, while the addition chunky tan belt offers a masculine touch and contrasts the formality of my mustard bow tie. My similarly sassy mustard socks are part of an autumnal-toned five pack costing just €4 from Penneys. Remember guys, an exposed sock is the ideal way to add personality to any ensemble, particularly when you match it to your neck wear!

Finally, I MUST pay special attention to these glossy wingtip brogues from River Island. At just €45 (yes, €45!), they are the perfect shoe for any occasion, and will leave your feet looking fabulously fancy with every step. A classic closet pleasing brogue for under 50 quid? Yes please!

So guys and gals, what are your AW must-haves?
