Brogue Brilliance

Hey guys and gals, I hope you’s are enjoying a chicy August (albeit the unsettling weather, of course!). Today I thought I’d share a recent purchase of mine that I know my fabulous fashion friends will appreciate.

When it comes to shoes, a lot of styles can come and go. If it’s not hi-tops, it’s New Balance, or old balance, or it was old but now it’s new again balance (not to mention those pointed Chelsea boots of hipster yesteryear that could nearly take a feckin’ eye out). However, one style that has gladly been championed through a multitude of faddy fashion phases is of course the elusive brogue.

There’s a lot to be said for a good brogue- simple, chic, comfortable, and accessible to almost any look are but a few characteristics of this classic style’s sartorial prowess. However, when it comes to choosing that perfect pair, some men can often be dazed by the dazzling array available on the high street. Luckily, I’ve managed to find the perfect sole-ution (that pun was categorically horrendous, I do apologise).

These River Island beauties (check them out here!) appear to have finally answered my brogue-begging prayers, and at €80 for a quality leather shoe, haven’t managed to put a dent in my debit card. Subtly distressed and with a height-boosting chunky sole (which will be perfectly offset by some super skinny jeans), these shoes are the perfect trans seasonal purchase, with enough style and sass to work their way through whatever may be left of our summer, just as well as they will when those Autumn leaves begin to linger. They’re also beyond comfortable. (Not that we would ever even dream of sacrificing style for comfort. Heaven forbid).

So folks, are you a fan of my latest fashion find? Do tell!

Stay sassy,
