People’s Place Originals – Hilfiger Denim

When it comes to sourcing the perfect capsule wardrobe of high-quality, interchangeable pieces, there’s no denying that Tommy Hilfiger has a long and fabulously successful repertoire of steadfast staples that continue to maintain his iconic style status. Such is definitely the case with the designer’s latest Hilfiger Denim Collection.

Named after the first ever clothing store he opened in 1969, the ‘People’s Place Originals’ capsule collection comprises of a variety of timeless menswear and womenswear pieces, all with deliciously contemporary finishes that add a refreshing twist to the rock and roll aesthetics with which ‘People’s Place’ became synonymous.

Opting for a colour palette of signature Tommy red mixed with graphic black and white, plaids and monochromatic finishes, the collection brings laid back luxe to a whole new dimension, offering statement graphic tees, distressed denims and iconic biker jackets that are sure to become instant wardrobe wonders.

For today’s blog post, I had the pleasure of styling one of the collection’s classic vintage tees with a simply sublime leather jacket that has already earned pride of place among my trans-seasonal pieces. The soft leather of the piece is superbly juxtaposed by the almost industrial addition of buckle and zip detailing, with its classic silhouette emulating an air of sartorial prowess that very few pieces can achieve.

A biker is an inimitable fashion fixture to every wardrobe, and Tommy is the go-to spot for such an item. I can’t wait to work this piece into a plethora of classic looks! For this ensemble, I maintained the monochrome aesthetic originated by the tee, and added simple black skinnies and a two-tone brogue.

A selection from the People’s Place Originals capsule collection is available from the fabulous Tommy Hilfiger store on Dublin’s Grafton St. from today, while the full collection can be purchased from

Happy shopping guys and gals!

Stay sassy,
